Connecting homeless pets to their companions
Mutual Rescue’s name was derived from the experience their team found to be continually true—saving shelter animals is as life-changing for the person adopting as it is for the companion animal. What began as a successful initiative has transformed into an impactful nonprofit that provides grants to animal shelters for lifesaving work, develops programs to help homeless companion animals find homes, and shares powerful stories of mutual rescue.
We partnered with Mutual Rescue to illustrate every film since their 2016 début, Eric & Peety, went viral and rapidly surpassed 100 million views online. Our collaboration has now expanded to include illustrations for 13 short documentary films.
After many years of partnering together on illustrations, we came together again to design their website. We modernized their site to showcase their inspiring films and programs, and engage and attract corporate sponsors.

Inspiring audiences to adopt
Mutual Rescue’s inspiring films span a diverse set of audiences, necessitating a website that amplifies their content while accommodating users with varying objectives. We designed the site with interactivity, imagery, and illustrations to bring the stories to life. The easy-to-navigate film pages offer audiences in-depth content to stay and engage, whereas the corporate sponsors page guides potential sponsors to quickly find the information they need with clear calls to action.
